Muhammed (Mo) Shahadat is responsible for the day-to-day operations and staff support
in PrintFX and the Fablab. He graduated with honors from Parsons the New School of
Design with a BFA majoring in Product Design and over the years has developed an expertise
in digital fabrication. His previous work experience covers seasonal exhibition designs
for the NYNOW show for Sustainability booths at the Jacob Javitz center from 2012-2017.
He's also worked with various toy companies to produce working prototypes and appearance
models, and dabbles in freelance 3D modeling. He is an adjunct instructor that loves
teaching, he's taught 3D courses such as Solidworks, Sketchup, and Rhino at Parsons,
3rd Ward, and FIT. Outside of FIT he enjoys furniture design, comics, model building,
chocolate, and the minutiae of the design world.
Linda Elber joined Printfx in 1986. She assists in daily operations, including but
not limited to: printing, customer service, web design, and administrative support.
She holds a BA in Fine Arts from SUNY Albany.
Jason Yip is a graphic designer for PrintFX. For more than 10 years, Yip has provided
design services and supports operations throughout FIT. He develops and creates corporate
identities, promotional campaigns, marketing materials, and signage design. Yip is
a Hongkonger. He graduated from FIT with a BFA in Communication Design.
Autumn Newcomb joined PrintFX as a Digital Production and Fabrication Technologist
in 2016. She loves working with students and faculty to help them achieve their creative
vision. Outside of FIT, Newcomb is a funkadelic multidisciplinary artist based in
Brooklyn. She uses color, humor and optimism to fight the power and promote self love
through a variety of mediums including video, soft-sculpture, illustration and glass.
She received her BFA from Alfred University School of Art and Design. She has shown
her work at The Dimenna Center for Classical Music, The Brooklyn Clay Tour and BRIC
Arts Media House.
Dawn Dinh has worked at FIT since 2016, starting as a work study student. After four
years at Gladys Marcus Library, she took her current position in July 2021. Dinh graduated
from FIT in 2020 with a BFA in Illustration, in addition to holding an AAS in illustration
and minors in History of Art, Sociology, and Asian Studies. She hopes to pursue a
Master's degree in Illustration. Within the broad illustration field, her main concentrations
are conceptual art and design, and storytelling, using both traditional and digital
mediums. Her usual themes correlate to social identity and cultural heritage. Besides
routinely delving into the vast illustration world, Dinh likes to explore the city,
experiment and cook elaborate dishes, and test the waters of content creation.
